Scandinavia has a tremendous history of fine ceramics. For almost 300 years Rörstrand has been synonymous with quality and fine craftsmanship. One of the best craftsmen was Stålhane, who joined in 1939 when he was only 19, working with Rörstrand for 40 years. Carl-Harry Stålhane’s production ranges from elegant graceful, studio pieces to mass produced ashtrays and pots, and unique, hand build sculptures.
Stålhane was for Röstrand, what Stig Lindberg was for Gustavsberg in the 1950s and 60s.
